Accident Recovery & Winching
Professional extraction and recovery when your vehicle is stuck or damaged.

When Standard Towing Is Not Enough
Not every vehicle situation is straightforward. Sometimes a car ends up in a ditch. Sometimes it slides off the road into mud or snow. Sometimes an accident leaves a vehicle in a position where you cannot just hook it up and drive away. These situations require accident recovery and winching services.
Accident recovery is about safely extracting vehicles from difficult spots without causing more damage. Winching uses a powerful cable system to pull your car out when it is stuck, flipped, or otherwise immobile. Our Cedar Falls towing team has the equipment and training to handle these complex recoveries. We assess the situation, make a plan, and get your vehicle back to solid ground.
What We Handle
Accident recovery and winching cover a range of situations. Here are some of the most common:
- •Ditch and Embankment Recovery: Your car slid off the road into a ditch or down an embankment. We use winches to pull it back up carefully.
- •Mud and Soft Ground Extraction: Stuck in mud, sand, or snow? We have the pulling power to get you unstuck without damaging your vehicle.
- •Rollover and Upside-Down Vehicles: If your car flipped or rolled, we use specialized rigging to set it upright safely before loading it onto a flatbed.
- •Multi-Vehicle Accidents: When multiple cars are involved, we coordinate with emergency services to clear the scene efficiently and safely.
- •Parking Garage and Tight Space Recovery: Vehicles stuck in parking garages, between barriers, or in other confined areas require careful maneuvering.
Once we extract your vehicle, we typically use flatbed towing to transport it safely to a repair shop or storage facility.
How Winching Works
A winch is a powerful motorized cable system mounted on our tow trucks. It can pull thousands of pounds of weight, but it has to be used correctly. The operator attaches the cable to a secure point on your vehicle, usually the frame or tow hook. Then we slowly pull the car back to stable ground.
The trick is doing this without causing more damage. If your car is stuck at an angle or wedged against something, we might need to use multiple attachment points or change the pulling direction. We also use protective straps and blocks to keep the cable from damaging your vehicle's body. Winching looks simple, but it takes experience to do it right.
Safety and Coordination
Accident recovery often happens at active crash sites. That means working around emergency vehicles, traffic, and sometimes hazardous conditions. Our operators are trained to work safely in these environments. We coordinate with police, fire, and EMS to make sure everyone stays safe while we clear the scene.
If your vehicle is drivable after recovery, great. If not, we will load it onto our truck and take it wherever you need. We can also provide roadside assistance if you just need minor help getting back on the road.
Why Experience Matters
Accident recovery is not something you want to leave to amateurs. The wrong technique can make things worse. Pulling from the wrong angle can bend your frame. Using too much force can tear off body panels. Rushing the job can put people in danger.
Our team has handled hundreds of recoveries. We know how to read a situation, use the right equipment, and get your vehicle out safely. Whether you need a simple winch-out or a complex multi-point recovery, we have the skills and tools to do it right.
